November - December 2012
First day on the farm we whipped up some delicious pepper jelly!
Moore Farms has chickens, roosters, goats, ducks, cats & pups that all need love! Our daily animal chores included feeding the chickens, ducks & goats; changing their water; and collecting, washing & packaging the chicken & duck eggs.
We did a lot of harvesting of winter crops for Moore's CSA - lettuce, spinach, kale, collard greens, swiss chard, cole robbie, turnips & beets
ferocious SweetPea {she's not really that ferocious}

One of the first weekends after we arrived, Moore Farms hosted Farm Day, where the community & CSA members were invited over for lunch and a tour of the farm.

Roscoe made a new friend
& so did Buddy!
One of the projects we helped Will & Laurie with at the farm was remodeling the corn crib [small building on the left]
inside before
we put up new walls
and turned this addition into a bedroom & bathroom

door to bedroom
we unfortunately had to move on before the remodeling was complete, but I certainly want to make a trip back to Moore Farms in the future to see how it turned out!
UPDATE: Brian & I visited Laurie & Will in January 2015 & the corn crib was complete! Check out the finished bathroom & bedroom addition!
from Moore Farms it's about an hour & a half drive to Atlanta Georgia & we had a couple of opportunities to visit the city during our month long stay.
